In Sega Bass Fishing Deluxe, players take on the role of an angler and attempt to catch bass within a strict time limit by choosing lures, casting their line, and skillfully reeling in fish. The arcade experience centers around timing, lure selection, and reading water conditions to bring in fish of increasing size and weight. The deluxe cabinet upgrades the original experience with a larger projection screen and improved casting control device, heightening the sensation of real fishing.
The game consists of multiple stages set at different times of the day. To advance, players must meet or exceed a target fish weight within the allotted time. Heavier fish and successful catches contribute toward progression through increasingly challenging levels.
